COYOTES IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Some of you have seen or heard that a family of coyotes has taken residence in the wooded area of Sleepy Hollow Park. It appears to be a Male, Female, and several cubs.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission does not remove coyotes from Florida communities. They recommend that we ignore them or "haze them" (meaning annoy them until they leave the area). In any case, our SHFA-HOA Board is engaging a recommended wildlife control contractor to remove them from our area.

Please keep your pets and children away from the coyotes until we can remove them from our park area.

For complete information about coyotes, safety, removal, etc. please see this detailed article from the University of Florida and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
